It can’t have escaped your notice that karate is now included in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and preparations are underway for athletes to compete for their place in history. The venue for the the event will be the famous Budo Kan in Tokyo, a purpose built arena I was able to visit earlier this year when in Japan and photos of which are in the gallery.
But what you may not know is that the Youth Olympics are currently being held in Buenos Aires in Argentina and England have two hopefuls competing: Lauren Salisbury and Charlotte Hope. Those that attended The West Midlands Open with us last month will have had a chance to see an Olympian in action as Charlotte Hope was introduced to the assembled crowd to rapturous applause.
Why am I telling you this? Because on the 17th and 18th October you will be able to watch them in action steamed live via www.Olympicchannel.com. So if you are looking to improve your karate for competition or grading then tune in to see the very best in the world in action.
It goes without saying that all of us at Ruach wish Lauren and Charlotte all the very best in their quest for their Olympic Dream.
